Flashback to the Past(Training post, yet Open)

The day was quite a nice one, although just finished raining. The sun shown bright, piercing through the drifting, scattered clouds. As fog rolled across the lower part of the mountains, in billows, it resembled clouds themselves. There was a small foot path that wrapped around the mountain. Which led to what would appear to be an abandoned shrine, but in fact was a training ground. Formerly used by the assassin organization, 'The Lotus'.

Up this high, the air was relatively thinner. Which was noticeable with each breath Kotetsu took. His lungs burned as they were trying to compensate for the lack of oxygen, and with each step his muscles ached for even the slightest rest. Yet he continued on, for it was Kotetsu's only day off in a long time, and he wanted to revisit the training grounds in which he perfected his skills on.

As he neared the top, Kotetsu saw the Gate that hid the secrets that lie within. It was a ten foot tall solid oak door, that had an iron ring for a handle. But upon getting closer, he seen that the gate had a chain securing it shut, and with a heavy duty lock. The lock itself was about twenty pounds, and rusted over from enduring the years of weather.

"Well, well," he repeated to himself. "I haven't been here in years, and I guess no one else has either." With that Kotetsu, uses his Bone Manipulation to create a bone spike in the palm of his right hand, and thrusts it directly into the key home of the lock. Which in return the lock busts apart and falls to the ground with a thud, soon followed by the chains.

Once breaking the obstacle, he pushed back the large door. That made a horrible screeching noise from the hinges being rusted over. While on the other side of the gate, it opened up into what looked like a courtyard. Full of statues of warriors, which faces have long been worn away from erosion. Then there was another set of stairs that led into the main hall, that housed five statues of wolves.

As he slowly made his way through the courtyard, Kotetsu couldn't help to notice how run down the place was. "Whatever happened?" He asked to himself, before fully remembering. "Oh yeah, that happened." 

He was referring to back when he was just a genin. The day was similar to as it is now, yet, early in the morning. As well as the building was in its prime and looked brand new. It was here to where Kotetsu trained rigorously on his academy jutsu. Starting at the simple transformation technique, and all the up to the body flicker.

Although it was years before, Kotetsu seemed to remember it as if it was being projected in front of him. It was him and his master Myoushu. They were located in the middle of the courtyard, which was referred to as the sparring grounds. To where Myoushu was helping the boy in advancing his shinobi abilities by aiding in his training with his academy jutsu.

First they started with the transformation technique. Myoushu demonstrated it first to the young boy. Althogh before allowing him to try it himself, Myoushu began to speak in order to guide the young warrior through the jutsu. "You need to focus young one," The elderly man paused briefly. "Try and focus on your energy, then on the targets." As the man continued on he performed one hand sign and once again demonstrated the jutsu. "Then try and change your energy to match that of your targets and picture them in your mind. To which you will then be able to imitate the targets physical appearance by using the chakara to change yours."

Upon hearing his masters request, he did so. Kotetsu closed his eyes, as he focused on his energy. Which seemed volatile, and rugged. He then focused upon Myoushu's energy and recognized that it seemed calm and still. As if the old man had complete control over his body. 

After focusing on both of their energy, Kotetsu focused his chakara as he slowly but surely matched it to Myoushu's. Then by performing a few hand signs, he transformed into the master. Well nearly, there were a few details off, yet it was nearly completely identical, and thus he learned the Transformation Technique.

Kotetsu snapped back to reality, as the memory faded into the back of his mind. His head now throbbing and aching slightly, Kotetsu's attention turned towards the main hall. It was where the group held its meetings.,

As he approached the steps that led upto the main hall, his head began to ache even more. Which caused him to pause briefly and place his left palm on his forehead, and another memory flooded into his mind. It was one of the same day, yet Myoushu wasn't there. It was just himself practicing his academy jutsu. Doing so without question, even when his master attended to meeting that day.

Kotetsu was attempting to learn the body flicker technique. A technique that required precise chakara control and timing. Even though being such a low rank technique, the concept of it was tricky. Being that the user has to channel chakara not only to their feet but also leg muscles. Which in return gave a shinobi better grip for beginning the technique. As well as a boost in speed, which then used seems to make the user flicker to their next location.

He knew how the technique worked and how to execute it, yet didn't have the control part down. Which in return produced different results. Kotetsu remembered, that he spent nearly all day out there trying to perfect the move. There were times when he would use to much chakara or have it over balanced. Which caused him to either put strain on his muscles, or move to fast to where he was tripped up. Then there were times when he would use not enough chakara or have it under balanced. Causing him to receive Enhanced speed yet not the body flicker, or wouldn't receive any boost. Although he also remembers that after spending nearly all day out there, he did master that technique. As a matter of fact, it saved him plenty of times.

Kotetsu couldn't break away from the visions and memories. Even though he knew exactly what happened, it seemed like he was seeing it through a different light, or perspective. The vision now was now about the day that his master was teaching him how to use chakara to walk on walls, and the substitution jutsu.

The day was dreary, as clouds lingered over head. It was lightly sprinkling, yet the crackling of the thunder suggested a down pour was on its way. Kotetsu was briefly meditating on a stone located at the bottom of one of the walls, as his sensei set up tables. Which had an assortment of ninna tools, from Kunai to senbon. 

His focus was broken by the words of his master, "Let's begin young one." Myoushu's face shown a sly grin as he picked up a couple of Kunai. "Think of this as an attempt on your life. So make a wrong move and you could fall."

After hearing the words of his mentor, Kotetsu quickly rose to his feet and entered a light footed evasive stance. Although he did keep his hands held in a defensive stance, planning on using them to protect his vital organs. He felt focused and calm as he also channeled chakara into his feet in order to give them grip once on the wall. "I'm ready when you are," Kotetsu said to Myoushu. Giving him the go ahead to start the training.

With a nod of his head, Myoushu started to spin, launching two kunais toward Kotetsu. Then in a swift fluid motion, he simultaneously picked up more Ninja tools while continuing to spin. Which in turn he continuously projected the weapons towards Kotetsu, attempting to predict his next movements.

At first, Kotetsu seemed to easily dodge them, yet then took one to the stomach. Causing a puff of smoke and a log to appear in his place. He relocated higher up on the wall, to where he continued to have to dart back an forth. The speed of his master increased, which caused him to use the substitution jutsu even more.

With this training his master forbade him to using his Bone Manipulation, to block the attacks. So instead he had the smart idea of catching a couple of the Kunai and using them to knock down the incoming projectiles. With the help of the weapons, he no longer needed to use the substitution jutsu. Yet he did have to use the wall climbing technique.

After the memory of his training subsided, Kotetsu still felt uneasy. Although he pressed on, making his way slowly yet sure up the steps. To where he reached the entrance to the main hall, it was in shambles. Looking as if the stone building has been set ablaze and the back wall was torn down. 

Before stepping inside, he removed his shoes just as he always did as a child when entering here. While inside, he made his way over to a lopsided table and sat down at it. (Japanese style table where people sit on the floor/mats.) Then the same sharp pain returned to his head as another memory was attempting to surface itself. Yet instead of fighting it, Kotetsu allowed his mind to open. 

As he sat there and meditated, the memory came into full perspective. It was the last night he was here, the second worst day in his life. That night there was Myoushu as well as Kotetsu and the higher calibre members meeting in this very room. The topic was an assassination that was to be executed on the Damiyo of the Land of Water. Reason being was that lately his speeches policies were defaming Kumogakure and attempting to turn the other countries against it. There was also an investigation personally set up by the Damiyo that was at risk in exposing the group.

So the assassination was set to take place the next day. Yet before the meeting could be adjourned, the organization was attacked by shinobi of jounin+ calibre. Which being that the attack was a suprise and the unknown assailants had an over whelming amount of people, it turned out successful. Causing the organization to flee, while Killing most of the members and sending the leader Myoushu into hiding.

Once the memory ended, a rage started to build inside him. Hatred towards the ones who caused this, angry that be was forced to flee. Not even being able to help what so ever as his brothers and sisters were slaughtered while aiding Kotetsu and his Master escape. 

Back then he knew nothing of who attacked them, but he was determined to figure that out. Just as he would learn who killed his father. As these thoughts surged through his head, it only fueled his feeling of animosity towards those people. 


Even though near his boiling point, Kotetsu performs some breathing techniques in order to calm himself. After doing so and before heading for the door he stated aloud, "I will prove to be victorious on this hunt." Pausing briefly, Kotetsu continued, "For in between the lines, outside of the laws, and underneath the veil, their are foundations." With that he exited the place
